Give back locally!
Our experiences are not always off in far distant lands! Local charities need our help too! Christmas of 2017 was the year we decided as a team to help out a family in need for the holidays. We chose a local Christmas Holiday Hamper program with the Women’s Rural Resource Centre. The WRRC matches women (who have accessed the services within the resource centre) with community sponsors (that’s us!!) who “adopts” a family or families to make the holidays easier for the woman and her family.
We adopted a Mom and her 6 beautiful girls who’s ages ranged from 8 months to 18 years! Together, our team arranged a van-load of Christmas goodies that were picked out by all of us. Visa gift cards and grocery store gift cards filled an envelope to ensure our Mom had enough funds to create a holiday meal for her family. Toys, formula, diapers, DVDs, fuzzy socks, nail polishes & hair pretties, a toaster and a Kuerig were bundled up and dropped off in time for the holidays!
Near or far – charity goes a long way. Whether it is $5 or $5M – it is our goal to help as many as we can. We look forward to helping out our local charities again next year!
